*I also believe in plenty of grace, yet with consequences - the behavior may be corrected, yet the child is affirmed, not shamed.
*I will never employ any form of corporal punishment on any child. All forms of corporal punishment are prohibited in licensed daycare, from care providers and parents alike. If your home has other rules, it does need to stay at home.
*I will feed children breakfast between 7:30am-9am; am snack between 10"00-10:15; lunch between 11:30-12:30; and afternoon snack between 3:15-3:45. Foods are largely home made & low sugar - served with a smile, always with fun & nutrition in mind. I am currently on a State funded professional Food Program.
*I will give clients at least two weeks notice in the event I need to terminate their contract. Primary reasons for termination may be: a client's chronic disregard for daycare policies or paydays; or of a child's chronic excessive behavior, such as injuring others.
*I will always give notice for expected closures, with a sign at our entryway. It is the client's responsibility to read such notices and to take them into account.
*I will be as dependable as humanly possible, not closing for minor
complaints, such as a cold, etc. However, the client must plan ahead or arrange for an alternate care provider in the event I am closed due to illness, such as flu, etc. I am rarely ill though....
*I approach my role with your child, as a parent's advocate as well as
contracted provider. In other words, I teach all daycare children to treat their parents with respect. This includes all non-custodial parents. For me, it is really about what the child needs - positive, loving adults in order to learn to be positive and loving themselves.
