Registration for Active4Youth Elementary Fall Cross-Country opens August 24th! 🎉

This FREE program is open to all 1st–5th grade students, and every fitness level is welcome. Whether your child loves to run or just wants to get outside, be active, and have some fun with friends, this is a great opportunity!

📚💙 Back to School at Riverbend Elementary! 💛✏️

We are so excited to welcome our Riverbend families back for another great school year!

Students in grades 1st–5th are invited to stop by on Monday, August 24th for an informal opportunity to meet their teacher, see their classroom, and get excited for the year ahead!

🍎 Last names A–M: Come anytime from 4:30–5:00 PM
🍎 Last names N–Z: Come anytime from 5:15–5:45 PM

Kindergarten families: You’ll have your own special opportunity to meet your teacher during your WaKIDS meetings, August 26th–28th, so kindergarten students do not need to attend on August 24th. Kindergarten teachers will be reaching out soon.

Teachers will be sending welcome emails on Friday, Aug 21st at 4 pm. If you do not receive an email, please reach out to the school Monday after 10 am.

Some of our teachers and leaders had an amazing opportunity to attend the PLC Conference, a professional learning experience focused on strengthening collaboration and improving student learning! Throughout the conference, educators learned practical strategies for building strong collaborative teams, using data to guide instruction, and working together to ensure every student succeeds. We are excited to bring these ideas back to our school, continue growing together as educators, and put our learning into action for our students. There is something powerful about educators learning alongside one another with a shared goal—doing whatever it takes to help every student learn and grow! 💙📚

Great news! This fall, school supplies will be provided to all CVSD elementary students for the 2026-2027 school year—thanks to the approval of your School Board. The School Board felt that the district should purchase these from local levy dollars to meet the basic educational needs for our youngest learners.

Supplies will be distributed to students by their teachers at the beginning of the school year. Parents will simply need to provide personal items for your child: a backpack and a water bottle.

The district is providing supplies for all 6,195 students in grades K-5 throughout the district.

👕 Last Chance for Lost & Found! 👕

Stop by and check the Lost & Found for any missing clothing items, water bottles, and even report cards that haven’t been picked up yet.

The school office will close for the summer today at 3:00 PM, so be sure to stop by before then!

Get ready for an afternoon of games, laughter, and outdoor fun! 🌞💦

📅 Wednesday, June 10
👕 Please have your child dress for the weather and wear comfortable clothes and shoes for active play.
💧 A water bottle is highly encouraged to help everyone stay hydrated.
👚 If you’d like, feel free to send a change of clothes just in case your child gets a little wet during some of our water activities.
💨 It may be a little windy, so dressing in layers is a great idea!

We can’t wait to celebrate an amazing day together. It’s going to be an otterly awesome Field Day! 🧡💙
