Thank you to all my friends who accepted the invite to Demii Clay Co!! I have a kindergartener’s mom who has blessed me with a lot of beautiful earrings!! Not only are they amazing because she’s so talented, but she is one of the nicest people I know AND am blessed to call her my really good, sweetest friend!! I’d you get anything from her, tell her you’re friends with her favorite kindergarten teacher! Hugs and love to all.

Do you need a hug?
Are we teaching our kiddos safety with kindness? Spending a lot of time in Dr office and now the hospital, you can see, feel, be overwhelmed with the sadness. The people working there are exposed EVERY DAY! I get we are on our own journeys, but teach your kiddos to recognize those with broken hearts. Teach them safety First always!! But teach them COMPASSION/EMPATHY!! “How do you think that person feels? Why do you think that: no smile, tears. How do you think we can make them smile?” Make sure they ask permission, but even just a child going up to someone they don’t know and saying, “Hi” or “Hope you have a great day!” Or “Can I give you a hug?” Could make that persons whole week! Be kind even when you may be on a hard journey. Leave them with a smile of their own and a sparkle in their day/heart!

Tip of the Day: Skip Counting by 3s and 9s
The next skip counting I have my kiddos do is by 3s first and then by 9s.
Have them skip count up to 30 by 3s until they have it memorized. Then if you look at the chart, the 9s go down in a diagonal. There's another trick to the 9s I will share in a video later.

Tip of the Day: Charts
When you have charts for the kiddos to point to, have them physically touch whatever the thing they are saying on the chart as they say it out loud. This will help them correlate, hear, say, and touch what they are trying to learn. The more senses you bring into learning, the easier they will pick it up.

Tip of the Day: Skip Counting by 5s and 10s
Give your kiddo a 100s chart and have them skip count to 120 by 5's and 10s. This will challenge them to think of what to do when they don't have any numbers to point to.

Tip of the Day: Skip Counting is extremely important!
Skip counting is required in every states' curriculum.
I always start with 2s. Have your kiddos memorize their 2s up to 20 to start with. Let them look and then get to the point where they aren't looking and can just go from memory.

Tip of the Day: Skip Counting
We practice skip counting (counting by 2s, 5s, 10s) as early as kindergarten. I use a 100’s chart and draw colored shapes on it to represent different numbers we skip count by. I don’t start out with such a crazy looking Hundreds chart. I start with the 2s. Then I add pink to the 10s circle.

Tip of the Day: An Early Start in Reading
Some experts say an early start in literacy is important. I agree, but if your kiddo is struggling to read, read to them. I was a late bloomer. I struggled in EVERY subject including reading. It wasn’t until middle school where I found my love for books. But my mama still read to me every night! She knew the importance of reading to children even just 5 minutes a night was. Find a book series your kiddos like and read to them! Let them enjoy and learn vocabulary even if they aren’t the ones reading!
