As we wrap up another amazing school year, we want to extend our heartfelt thanks to all of our students and families for your support, partnership, and dedication throughout the year. Together, we have learned, grown, and created memories that will last a lifetime. 💙🩵

As a reminder, TDLA is transitioning to a balanced calendar. The first day of school for the 2026-2027 school year will be August 26.

☀️ Field Day Fun! 💦

Our students had a fantastic time celebrating the end of the school year with a well-deserved Field Day! Although it was a hot and sunny day, everyone made the most of it with games, activities, laughter, and plenty of water fun to help keep cool.

Thank you to our staff and volunteers who helped make the day such a success. It was the perfect way to wrap up another amazing school year!

¡Nuestros estudiantes se divirtieron muchísimo celebrando el final del año escolar con un merecido Día de Campo! Aunque fue un día caluroso y soleado, todos aprovecharon al máximo los juegos, las actividades, las risas y, especialmente, los juegos de agua para refrescarse.

Gracias a nuestro personal y a los voluntarios que ayudaron a hacer de este día todo un éxito. ¡Fue la manera perfecta de cerrar otro increíble año escolar!

¡La diversión aún no termina! 🌟 Este miércoles tendremos nuestro Show de Talentos 🎤✨, seguido por el Día de Campo 🏅🎈 el próximo lunes, mientras contamos los días para el último día de clases el martes 🎓☀️

Mrs. Stombaugh’s 7th and 8th grade students celebrated their love of reading with a “Literature Parade,” creating miniature floats representing a character, scene, or important element from their independently read novel. Students also wrote parade scripts sharing information about the story’s theme, point of view, and internal and external conflicts. Our middle schoolers showed so much creativity and thoughtful work—we hope you enjoy a glimpse of their learning!

Los estudiantes de 7.º y 8.º grado de la Sra. Stombaugh celebraron su amor por la lectura con un “Desfile Literario,” creando mini carrozas que representaban un personaje, una escena o un elemento importante de la novela que leyeron de manera independiente. Los estudiantes también escribieron guiones para el desfile en los que compartieron información sobre el tema de la historia, el punto de vista y los conflictos internos y externos. ¡Nuestros estudiantes de middle school demostraron muchísima creatividad y trabajo reflexivo—esperamos que disfruten una pequeña muestra de su aprendizaje!

Our second-grade students have spent the last few months learning about life cycles in nature and animals, and recently began studying insects. 🐛🦋 Over the past few weeks, students helped raise butterflies and were finally able to release them! It was a fun, exciting, and magical experience that brought their learning to life.

¡Nuestros estudiantes de segundo grado han pasado los últimos meses aprendiendo sobre los ciclos de vida en la naturaleza y los animales, y recientemente comenzaron a estudiar los insectos. 🐛🦋 Durante las últimas semanas, los estudiantes ayudaron a criar mariposas y finalmente pudieron liberarlas. ¡Fue una experiencia divertida, emocionante y mágica que dio vida a su aprendizaje!

After spending the school year writing pen pal letters, our fourth-grade students finally had the opportunity to meet their fellow pen pals from Frances Scott Elementary School in person! ✉️🌳 Students gathered at the park to enjoy lunch, conversation, and fun together. It was a wonderful way to celebrate the friendships and connections they built throughout the year!

Our students have already raised an amazing $2,940 online—and that doesn't include the pledge forms that have not yet been turned in! Thank you to all of our families, friends, and community members who have supported our students.
The Fun Run and Picnic will take place this Friday, June 5th, and we can't wait to celebrate together! There is still time to help us reach our goal by collecting those final donations and turning in pledge forms.

Our school garden is growing! 🌱🍅 Students had a great time helping plant fruits and vegetables in our garden beds while learning about teamwork and responsibility.

Thank you to all of the wonderful volunteers who helped students plant and to everyone who helped organize and prepare the garden. Your hard work and support made this project possible for our students and school community! 💚
