I heard this was on court papers received by my friend who went to court for something... In the "judge's comments" section the judge wrote, "twin syndrome", so I wanted to know what this meant. This is what I found out from Quora website:
"Question:
"If an identical twin commits a crime, and his face is recorded on camera, and he goes to court since he has the same face, how would the second twin prove his innocence?"
"Answer:
"In most jurisdictions the boot is on the other foot. If it could have been either of the identical twins (which may not necessarily be the case, but let's assume it here) the prosecution has the problem. It is for the prosecution to prove who did it, not for the defendants to prove who didn't. If there is no way of identifying the real offender, then neither has a case to answer. The leading authority in English law is the case of R v Lane and Lane. Not a case about twins, but one in which either Mr L or Mrs L had killed their baby. If one could prove that they did it together, or that one did it and the other must have complicit, then one can convict them both as principal offenders. But not if one of them might be completely innocent.""
Lol twin syndrome! Hilarious I guess. Lol
