Sun City Child Development Center is a faith-based early learning program for children ages 3 months–5 years.

We partner with families to nurture confident, caring learners through play, exploration, and a safe, loving environment.

The weather is getting colder, so we are getting cozier with hands-on learning indoors. Our students have been busy creating art, exploring new textures and materials, and strengthening those important fine motor skills through play!

From colorful art projects to working with geo boards, our children are practicing coordination, concentration, creativity, and problem-solving, all while having fun!

We’ve hit fall hard here at the Development Center!

From pumpkin pies to farmers markets, our children are learning all about the changing season through hands-on experiences, exploration, and plenty of fall fun!

They’re discovering where their food comes from, watching the leaves change, exploring autumn colors and textures, and enjoying all the little things that make this season so special.

We love watching our children's curiosity grow right alongside the season!

Our preschool classrooms have been having so much fun learning rhyming words through owl puzzles!

As our students match, sound out, and put the pieces together, they’re building early literacy skills while having a great time. Our preschoolers are discovering that learning to read can be fun!

We love watching their confidence and knowledge grow one puzzle piece, and one rhyme, at a time!

Our preschoolers have been busy learning some exciting themes! This summer we have been learning about the ocean and transportation!

Ocean Unit: They have dived into the wonders of the ocean, learning about sea life, exploring ocean habitats, and discovering what makes our oceans so special. Through ocean sensory bins and seashell painting these kiddos have been able to explore all that the ocean has!

Transportation: From cars and boats to planes, trains, and more! We've been busy exploring all the different ways people and things get from one place to another!

Our preschoolers had a special visit from Waste Management and learned all about the important role recycling plays in keeping our community clean and helping take care of our planet.

They got to discover what happens to recyclable materials, why recycling matters, and how even the smallest helpers can make a BIG difference!

A HUGE THANK YOU to Waste Management for coming out, teaching our kiddos, answering their questions, and helping us turn our classroom learning into a real-life experience! We love showing our children that being a community helper can also mean taking care of the world around us.

This week we got a visit from some very special community helpers: our local post office team!

We learned all about what happens after we drop a letter in the mailbox, how mail gets sorted and delivered, and the important job postal workers have connecting people in our community.

The kids were SO excited, curious, and full of questions! There’s something pretty amazing about watching their eyes light up when they get to learn about a job they see happening in their own community every day!

A HUGE THANK YOU to our postal workers for taking the time to come visit our preschoolers and share what you do! You helped bring our Community Helpers unit to life!

Our preschoolers are diving into our Community Helpers unit, and we are LOVING every minute of it!

So far, we’ve had an incredible military guest and some amazing police officers come in to talk with our classes about what they do, how they help others, and what it means to serve our community.

The excitement, curiosity, and BIG questions from our kiddos have been so much fun to see! Their minds are learning that the people who make up our community all have important jobs, and that helping others is something we can ALL do!
