Did you know that May is National Beef Month? It’s a time to recognize the hard work of beef producers and celebrate the role beef plays in a healthy diet and local agriculture. As proud members of the Rutherford County Cattlemen’s Association, we’re committed to helping educate the public about beef cattle—how they’re raised, the nutritional value of beef, and the importance of supporting local farmers.

Fun Fact: Beef is a great source of high-quality protein, iron, zinc, and B vitamins. Plus, more than 90% of what cattle eat—like grass and byproducts from other industries—can’t be eaten by humans, making cattle an important part of sustainable agriculture.

We invite you to join us in celebrating National Beef Month by learning more about where your food comes from and enjoying some delicious local beef!

Don’t forget to sign up! Deadline 4/9 we will have bovine reproduction tracts, and cows to gain hands on experience with different methods of preg checking . Doesn’t cost anything we just need a head count so we have enough food.

We would like to invite you to join us for our bovine reproduction field day on 4/12/25. Call the Rutherford County Cooperative Extension to rsvp. We plan for this to be a hands on learning day.
