Toma Karate Dojo is the school of karatedo that trains in the traditional Okinawan martial art style Seidokan. Seidokan translates to "house of the righteous way" and was founded by Grand Master Shian Toma. Toma Karate Dojo is operated under the supervision of Grand Master John E. Kennedy, Black Belt 9th Degree and Director of the United States Seidokan Association. John LaMarca is Master Kennedy'

s head student and chief of instruction for Toma Karate Dojo. Sensei LaMarca holds the rank of 8th Degree Master Black Belt. Classes are offered for all ages and genders. Kennedy was presented his 9th degree Black Belt in the All Okinawa Karate Kobudo Seidokan Association and The Toide Seidokan Association in July, 2001. These associations were founded by Grand Master Shian Toma, a 10th degree Black Belt from Okinawa. Sensei John Kennedy was introduced to Seidokan after joining the Air Force in 1965. In 1967, Sensei Kennedy was asked to represent The United States in an "Invitation-Only" - World Championship Competition. He accepted this honor and was named World Fighting Champion, World Kata Champion and World Weapons Champion. After winning this competition, Sensei Kennedy was asked to join the All Okinawa Karate Kobudo Association to continue his training. In this Association he also trained under Master Uehara Seikichi, founder of Motobu-ryu. This is the secret Te(Hand) of the kings of Ryukyu that was handed down through the Motobu Family. When Sensei Kennedy returned from Okinawa in 1969, he introduced Motobu-ryu/Seidokan to the United States. As director of The United States Seidokan Association, he opened the Toma Karate Dojo in Spencerport. As head master of all Toma Karate Dojos in the United States, he provides an important connection to the knowledge of early masters. This connection has been maintained for 48 years through Sensei Kennedy's dedication to traditional Martial Arts. Traditional Karate teaches one to adapt, and to expand knowledge and ability through mental discipline while keeping traditional values intact. These values include: honor, integrity, perfection of body, mind and spirit.

I copied this from a fellow 'brother in arms'
about a Warriors Skills. This is very applicable to Karate, Martial Arts or any worthwhile endeavor you may decide to take.

"Skills are perishable and we lose them if we don’t practice & train no matter what they are. But on the flip side, we continue to improve them as we train and practice more often.

Improvement lies in our inherent skills that the good Lord gave us but even more so , they lie in our willingness to perfect them which never stops (there are no subject matter expert’s), we are always learning. We are all students in the continuing education classroom that we call life 👊🏼…
So keep moving forward, keep grinding, keep practicing, and keep passing on knowledge to those that ask questions and show willingness to learn.
And always take a knee and give thanks for the different abilities we have all been blessed with ."
