This year, we're launching a brand-new part of our Women in Agriculture Conference – the Business Pitch Competition! Whether you're a repeat attendee or brand new to our conference, we invite you to submit your agribusiness ideas and compete to win up to $3,000 in prize money for your agribusiness. The Business Pitch Competition is open to any aspiring, beginning or mid-level agribusiness owner in West Virginia.

The West Virginia Women in Agriculture Business Pitch Competition is designed to help jump-start new operations or make improvements to existing agribusinesses in West Virginia.

Participants should submit a 5-minute video describing their business idea by Tuesday, September 30, 2025. On Monday, October 6, 2025, Semifinalists will be announced.

All semifinalists will prepare a 6-minute business pitch (with 4 minutes of Q&A) to be delivered on Friday, October 31, during the dinner of the Women in Agriculture Conference, 6:30-8 p.m., Stonewall Resort, Roanoke, West Virginia. Five finalists will be chosen.

November 1, 2025 – Finalists will deliver a 12-minute final business pitch (with 5 minutes of Q&A) during the afternoon session of the Women in Agriculture Conference, 1:30-3 p.m.

Awards
1st Place Winner: $3,000
2nd Place Winner: $2,000
3rd Place Winner: $1,000

Additionally: Each of the 10 semifinalists will receive $400 in support toward registration, room and board for the West Virginia Women in Agriculture Conference.

Register Now for the WVU Extension Women in Agriculture Conference set for Friday, Oct. 31- Saturday, Nov. 1 at Stonewall Resort in Roanoke, WV. Register today at https://extension.wvu.edu/conferences/wia. Full conference registration for adult participants who register prior to October 1st is $95. Student Full conference registration rate is $60. We have a variety of registration options from just taking in the tours on Friday afternoon to just attending the workshops of the conference on Saturday to coming in for Friday's dinner or bringing guests to dinner on Friday or Lunch on Saturday. Rooms must be booked separately through Stonewall Resort for a special rate of $149.00, plus fees and taxes, if booked by October 1, 2025. This fee is in addition to your registration fee. You will need to call 304-269-7400 make a reservation and mention the WVU Extension West Virginia Women in Ag Conference SOON! Rooms are filling up!
