Students put science into action by burning a potato chip to determine how many calories are in just one chip. Through this hands-on experiment, they were able to see how the energy stored in food can actually be measured. 🔬

Who knew one potato chip could lead to so much science? 💚💛

Parents, families, and community members are invited to an important conversation about keeping our youth safe.

On Tuesday, August 25, Jermaine Galloway of Tall Cop Says Stop will be at Catawba College to share what adults need to know about current drug and va**ng trends. Galloway is a former law enforcement officer who now focuses on helping communities recognize and respond to substance-use trends affecting young people.

Participants will learn more about:
🔎 Signs of alcohol and drug use
💬 Current terminology, products, and concealment methods
💨 Emerging va**ng and substance-use trends
🛡️ Prevention and intervention strategies

The presentation will also include findings from a local community scan of Rowan County.

Mosyle@Home allows families to set rules for safe and appropriate device use outside of school, including:

🎶 There’s still time to become part of the North Rowan band family! 💚💛

It’s RUSH WEEK for The Marching Cavaliers, and this is the last week to join! 🎺🥁 The band will rehearse Monday through Thursday from 4:00-6:30 PM as they prepare for their first varsity football game at West Rowan.

And don’t forget, students can now earn 0.5 high school credit for every completed marching band season! 🙌

Looking to add band to your school day? Band classes are also available during 3rd and 4th block. See Mr. Smith to get band added to your schedule for the 1st or 2nd semester.
