We had a great field trip to McCormick’s Creek State Park today! We’ve been learning about food chains, habitats, and organisms in Project Lead the Way. We did some activities to review food chains with Mr. Pratt. Then we got to see and touch live animals including a snake! Our guide taught us about the organisms’ habitats, adaptations, and prey. We also were able to explore the nature center! We finished our trip with lunch and some play outdoors!

This week we completed a PLTW module about form and function. We had fun mimicking pollination and designing our own seed dispersal system!

Several of our classmates were challenged to start their own lemonade stands. They were given a budget and requirements and decided what to purchase to get started. They designed their own recipes and got creative with how they would attract customers. Today they got to open shop. Their classmates used their lemonade credit to purchase from different stands. Next week, they will calculate their profits and discuss the pros and cons of each stand. 🍋
