School Smiles is a voluntary dental program that provides on-site dental care at our schools every six months for all students that sign up to participate. The dental team will set up inside the school and accept Medicaid, private insurance, offer self-pay rates and grants through their foundation.

No child is ever turned away due to inability to pay.

Registration is now open online at: www.schoolsmiles.com/student-signup with over 100 languages to choose from when completing the online form.

Paper registration forms are also available and will be sent home with elementary students this week. Middle school forms are available in the main office. High school forms are available in the nurse's office.

Students who were registered for dental services last school year will need to register again this school year for services.

At last night's School Board meeting, Transportation Director Lisa Swafford presented Cheryl Bailey with the "You Make a Difference" award.

Lisa wrote the following about Cheryl in her nomination:

Cheryl makes a difference every day for our students and our school community. She helps create a safe, welcoming, and positive start and finish to their school day. Cheryl is always willing to help out whenever she is needed and it does not go unnoticed. Cheryl's dedication, patience, dependability, and care for our students is truly appreciated. Our Owen Valley Football Co-Captains stopped by the S-OCS School Board meeting last night and led the audience in the Pledge of Allegiance.

As a thank you for taking time out of their busy schedules, Superintendent Cline presented each of the boys with a certificate and a chocolate chip cookie from Crumbl.

Spencer-Owen Community School Corporation would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Keystone Propane for its generous donation through the Propane with Purpose program.

As students return to the classroom, Keystone Propane is helping remove barriers to student success by supporting efforts to reduce school lunch debt and address food insecurity in rural communities.

Spencer-Owen Community Schools is grateful to be among the 34 school corporations selected to receive funding through this meaningful program, which is providing a total of $177,450 to schools and communities.

What makes this program especially meaningful is that it begins with Keystone Propane customers. With every propane delivery stop, $0.50 is contributed to the Propane with Purpose program, demonstrating how small contributions can come together to make a significant difference for students and families.

S-OCS is appreciative of community partners like Keystone Propane who recognize that meeting students' basic needs is an important part of helping them succeed in the classroom.

🏈PATRIOT FANS: LET’S KEEP GAME DAY SAFE & FUN!

As we cheer on our Owen Valley Patriots, please help us provide a safe, respectful, and enjoyable experience for everyone at OVHS sporting events.

⭐ IMPORTANT REMINDER FOR FAMILIES:

Elementary and middle school students should NOT be dropped off at games and left unattended. They must be accompanied by an adult. Parents/guardians, please plan to stay at the event with your child.

A few other Fan Expectations to remember:

🔴 Students may not re-enter once they leave the event.
⚪ Large bags and backpacks are not permitted.
🔵 No outside food or drinks.
🔴 No loitering in school parking lots or on school property.
⚪ Students should remain on the side of the stadium designated for their fan base.
🔵 Footballs, basketballs, soccer balls, and other athletic equipment should be left at home.
🔴 Individuals acting inappropriately may be asked to leave and may not be permitted to attend future OVHS events.

Our goal is simple: keep our students and fans safe while creating a great atmosphere for our teams!
