There's something I've learned after two decades in the classroom...
The first week of school matters more than most people realize.
Those opening days set the tone for classroom routines, student relationships, expectations, and the culture you'll build for the entire year. It's exciting—but it can also feel overwhelming, especially if you're a new teacher.

That's what inspired me to write The First Week.
My goal wasn't to write another education book filled with theory. I wanted to create a practical guide that new teachers could actually use as they prepare for those critical first days of school.

If this book helps a teacher walk into the classroom with a little more confidence and a little less stress, then every hour spent writing it was worthwhile.
