We would like to extend a big thank you to Melissa Oliver, Daniel Owens of the Van Buren County Soil & Water Conservation District, and Chris Binkley of UT Extension-Van Buren County for helping make our land judging clinic happen today. Without their help it simply would not be possible.

Back at the Tennessee State Fair today to compete in the State Dairy Judging Contest.

The team of Jetta Kilgore, Addison Roberts, Ryleigh Shockley, and Malloree Watson (along with alternates Kayden Yates and Gracie Davenport) placed 7th in the state!

We spent a nice, cool day at the Tennessee State Fair yesterday participating in a few contests.

Brayden Simmons & Brayden Bergthal - 1st place in Forestry with Brayden Simmons being the overall top scorer

Caden Baughman & Iziaiah MacMurchy - 17th in Environmental and Natural Resources

Jetta Kilgore, Ryleigh Shockley, Lilly Norton, and Mallory Watson - 16th in Livestock Judging

Owen Swindell, Addison Roberts, and Kassidee Carter - 35th in livestock Judging

But this is just day 1 of the State Fair. We shall return later this week!

***STATE CHAMPION AG MECH SKILLS TEAM***

On Thursday, April 24 we traveled to TSU to compete in the state ag mech contest and left with 1st place in the state! This was a grueling contest that featured the team of Creed Davis, Iziaiah McMurchy, Jacob Grissom, and Caden Baughman building a wall, taking a ACT level test, 3 & 4 way switches, elevation readings, working with a generator and sprayer, and reading blueprints to cut out a gusset.
Creed was the state high scorer
Iziaiah was state 2nd high scorer
Jacob was state 3rd high scorer
Caden was state 4th high scorer
We will now travel to Indianapolis in October to compete at the National Ag Mech Skills Contest for the first time ever!

We traveled to Cookeville today to compete in the Regional Envirothon held at TTU. At the end of the day the girls team of Lilly Norton, Kassidee Carter, Lillie Jones, McKenzie Greene, and Kryssa Kersh placed 3rd while the boys team of Caden Baughman, Archer Shockley, Jacob Grissom, Brayden Bergthal, and Briar Walling placed 5th.
