**Building the Next Crew: Rural EMS and Fire Instructor Development**

The future of rural emergency response starts with experienced responders who are ready to teach others.

Join us **December 8–11, 2026, in Alpine, Texas**, for an instructor-development course created for rural EMS and fire personnel who want to train their peers, strengthen their departments, and help grow the next generation of West Texas responders.

Participants will learn to plan and deliver effective lessons, coach hands-on skills, evaluate performance, provide constructive feedback, and create safe, engaging training experiences. The course also covers adult learning, lesson design, assessment, live-fire training safety, preceptorship, instructor standards, and credentialing pathways.

**Who is eligible?**
Texas EMS professionals certified at the **EMT level or higher**, along with fire service personnel interested in developing their instructional skills and supporting training within their departments. EMS instructor candidates may teach only at or below their current certification level.
