A new opportunity is opening for BHSU Honors students interested in careers in law.

Through a partnership with the University of South Dakota Knudson School of Law, qualifying BHSU Honors Scholars can pursue early admission to law school while completing their undergraduate studies.

We're excited to share that BHSU has expanded eligibility for reduced military tuition rates, increasing access to affordable education for military-connected students and families.

The expansion includes eligible spouses and dependents of active-duty military members stationed at Ellsworth Air Force Base attending BHSU classes in Spearfish or Rapid City, as well as civilian employees stationed at Camp Rapid.

BHSU is launching a new Criminal Justice program, providing students with a pathway to careers in law enforcement, corrections, public safety, and related fields.

Combining a strong academic and practical foundation in criminal justice with additional coursework in human services, psychology, and sociology, the program will prepare graduates to serve their communities and meet workforce needs across the region.

Black Hills State University will launch a new Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice beginning Fall 2026, expanding opportunities for students interested in law enforcement, corrections, courts, public service, investigations, victim advocacy, and other high-demand fields.

Buzz Marketing, the Residence Hall Association, and the Psychology Club were honored last week for excellence in academics, community service, and organizational leadership.

Three Black Hills State University student organizations were recognized for their outstanding academic, community, and organizational achievements during the South Dakota Board of Regents meeting held on the BHSU campus in July.

A new experiment has arrived at the Sanford Underground Research Facility, and the BHSU Underground Campus (BHUC) is helping make it happen. 👏

NEMESIS will study high neutron multiplicity events, providing data that could support future breakthroughs in underground physics research. The work will be conducted at the BHUC, where BHSU faculty and students play a key role in supporting scientific research deep underground.
