✨Alumni Spotlight ✨
Meet Keegan Her Many Horses, an enrolled member of the Oglala Lakota Nation.

"My name is Keegan Her Many Horses and I am an enrolled member of the Oglala Lakota Nation. I grew up in Ethete, Wyoming on the Wind River reservation and currently live in Pine Ridge, South Dakota. I attended BHSU on a running scholarship in 2015 and graduated in 2019 with my Bachelor’s in Exercise Science. I then worked at Maȟpíya Lúta Owáyawa for two years before attending graduate school and earning my Masters of Athletic Training from UCCS in 2023. Since then I have worked at Maȟpíya Lúta Owáyawa as a Lakȟóta Language Support Staff as well as heading the first Athletic Training and Sports Medicine program on the Pine Ridge reservation. In my down time I travel and dance at powwows all around the country and I strive to combine the Lakȟota language with athletic training every day. My time at BHSU was foundational for me as not only did it set me up for success later in my career but also gave me lifelong friendships and connections that I am grateful for. The Center for American Indian Studies was my second home and helped me succeed in both my athletics and academics."
