School is closed tomorrow, June 18th, in observance of Juneteenth. We will reopen on Monday.

We hope everyone is having a wonderful summer! In observance of Juneteenth, all District Six schools and offices will be closed on Thursday, June 18, 2026.

This year, the Juneteenth holiday falls on a Friday. Since District Six schools are closed on Fridays during the summer, the holiday will be observed on the nearest business day.

Our FES Visions students had a blast at the D6 Summer Arts Institute 2026! They enjoyed a week of art, dance, music, and theater with a STEAM theme. Lots of fun, creative energy!

Fairforest Elementary is excited to share that Mrs. Morgan Zell will be joining our administrative team for the 26-27 school year! Mrs. Zell is no stranger to FES - she has served as FES's MTSS Coordinator for the past two years and as our school's speech-language pathologist for two years prior to taking on the MTSS Coordinator leadership role. Mrs. Zell has spent ten years in District Six and has thirteen years of educational experience overall.

When asked what she is most excited about for the upcoming school year, she shared, "I’m excited to step into the role of assistant principal to help create a positive, supportive environment where both students and teachers can SOAR. I look forward to supporting student academic, social, and emotional growth and making a meaningful impact on the school community that I love so dearly!

Outside of school, Mrs. Zell enjoys spending time on the golf course with her two boys who attend FES, being involved in the Spartanburg community, reading, and spending as much time as possible outdoors.
