On this fun night, FES families will have the opportunity to:
*Meet with your child’s teacher
*Receive a copy of the book, “If I Built A Car,” with pointers on engaging your child in reading
*Create and test a marble run track
*“Fuel Up” on tires (mini donuts) and lemonade
*Enter a drawing to win your very own marble run track
*Learn about the 2026-2027 school year and ways to get involved

🍎 Harvest of the Month: Apples! 🍎
Today, our students had a delicious opportunity to taste four different varieties of apples with District 6 staff as part of our Harvest of the Month program! 😋
Students also sampled a warm apple treat baked with brown sugar, cinnamon, and oatmeal—and it was a big hit! 🍎🥰
Did you know that more than 1 million apples are served each year across District 6 schools? That’s a LOT of apples! 🍏🍎
We love giving our students opportunities to taste, explore, and learn about healthy foods while discovering where their food comes from. ❤️

We LOVED seeing all of these AMAZING Reading Trackers and Pledge Forms coming in today for FES's GROOVY Read-A-Thon! If your child forgot to turn in their Pledges and Trackers today, please make sure they do Monday! As a reminder, the class that reads the most amount of minutes will win a gift card to the book fair for their teacher to purchase new books for the classroom! And the top readers from each grade will win an awesome bookbag full of gifts!
Collecting pledges is optional. 100% of the pledges collected will go towards the PTO-funded activities and events!

It’s Fine Motor Friday in Ms. Powell’s 4K class with students working on our fine motor skills by traveling to different stations to develop our fine motor skills all while having fun! We had our hair stylist busy working on giving hair styles, race car drivers practiced their driving skills on the race track as well as the cutting skills, farmers picking apples to match the number on our apple farm, and explorers working to build a bridge for their bugs to cross over.

Today is the LAST DAY for reading minutes and pledges for FES's GROOVY Read-A-Thon! Please update your child's Reading Tracker and Pledge Form that is in their blue communications folder every time they read! Pledges and Trackers are due back TOMORROW, Friday, September 11th!
The class that reads the most amount of minutes will win a gift card to the book fair for their teacher to purchase new books for the classroom! And the top readers from each grade will win an awesome bookbag full of gifts donated by Home Depot!
