For Ann “Pickle” Fulton Walker ’76, being a Converse graduate is more than an alma mater connection—it’s a family legacy spanning more than a century.

As she celebrated her 50th Reunion this past spring, Ann reflects on the generations of her family who helped shape Converse and the memories, friendships, and opportunities that allowed her to build a legacy all her own.

Converse is leading the way in interdisciplinary learning, especially through the Nisbet Honors Program, which celebrates its 25th anniversary this year.

By blending ideas across disciplines, Converse students and faculty create innovative learning experiences that are greater than the sum of their parts. One example is Math on the Ballot: Voting & Strategy, a course co-taught by Dr. Allison Vick and Dr. Jessica Sorrells that explores the intersection of mathematics, political science, and democracy.

Congratulations to Angela Brobson ’23 on earning a prestigious Fulbright U.S. Student Program award for the 2026-2027 school year! Among fewer than 2,000 recipients nationwide, Angela will serve as a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant in Germany.

A graduate of Converse with degrees in German Studies and Mathematics and a minor in Data Science, Angela embraced every opportunity on campus from serving as Student Government Association President and playing soccer to participating in the Nisbet Honors Program, Model NATO, and Model Arab League.

Reflecting on her Converse experience, Angela shared, “There were a lot of opportunities for transferable skills, because they really encourage you to get involved with campus life, whether that’s through student government or professors saying, ‘You should take advantage of this math conference or be a Girls Who Code facilitator.’ When it came to applying for this, I was able to ask questions of professors… as well as fellow alumni.”

We are proud to see Angela represent Converse on the global stage and wish her all the best as she begins this exciting journey in Germany. 🌎✨

Converse mourns the loss of Associate Professor of Accounting Emeritus Roger F. Luttrell, who passed away on May 21, 2026. A beloved faculty member from 1996 to 2017, he was known for making accounting come alive—even bringing students to Disney World for his famous management class. Remembered by colleagues as a "gentle giant" and a brilliant mentor, he will be deeply missed. 💜

Converse Mourns the Loss of Roger Luttrell Associate Professor of Accounting Emeritus Roger F. Luttrell passed away on May 21, 2026. Mr. Luttrell had been a full-time faculty member at Converse
