Hi! I’m Chelsey and I’m the owner of Grace & Grit! We’ve had several new followers so I think it’s time for an introduction post!
I’ve actually been pretty hesitant to connect my identity with this business. Ever since I started G&G in 2022, I’ve wanted its identity to be on the foundation of Christ alone. I never had the confidence to create in the past. Well, maybe I would create, but only for myself and rarely shared it with others. I was too afraid of failure, of disappointment, of self-inflicted judgement. You see, art is relative. ‘Art’ is dependent on the eyes of the beholder. I was terrified that what I produced wouldn’t be good enough; that somewhere out there, there would be someone who could do it better. But, after a huge life shift in 2022, I learned what was really important.

Jesus, and Jesus alone.

I started creating as a form of worship to the one who would save me again and again. Once I shifted my perspective from ‘receiving validation’ for my art, to ‘ministering to others’... it also shifted my confidence. I learned that it was actually the greatest creator of all who even gave me the gift of creating to begin with. From that growth, Grace and Grit was born.

I’ve always been a fair mixture of chaos and art. I’m messy, impulsive, and a risk taker. I have no idea how far this little side gig will go but I’m along for the ride as Jesus leads the way.
