With over twenty years of homeschooling experience, UHA helps families experience the freedom to educate their children as is allowed in the law, without unnecessary oversight. UPCOUNTRY HISTORY MUSEUM

Each Homeschool Day includes a guided experience in one of the Museum’s galleries, hands-on activities in our classrooms, and all day admission to the Museum. Programs are multidisciplinary and support South Carolina state standards for social studies.

How to Homeschool workshop will be held NEXT WEEK, Saturday, September 12,2026, 10:30am-1:30pm

Passionate about homeschooling, but have no idea where to begin? Started homeschooling, but feel like you don't have a firm grasp? Just need a refresher after your first couple of years? This is a one-day workshop covering all the basics needed to get started educating your children at home! During this workshop, we will explore:
~ the South Carolina laws centered around homeschooling
~ the different learning styles -what do all those labels mean?
~ how to identify what might work best for each child
~ how to evaluate curriculum,
~ the world of lesson planning to keep you and your children on track
~ how to effectively teach multiple children at once

Having fun is just as beneficial; therefore, we will also highlight enrichment days/activities and attendance logging to ensure any fun is enjoyed with peace of mind!

**REGISTRATION CLOSES ON MONDAY**

Have you heard of or considered the ASVAB test for your high schooler?
Upcountry Homeschool Association is very pleased to announce that we have arranged an ASVAB testing opportunity for homeschoolers!!

T​his is open to all 10th-12th grade homeschoolers (spread the word) and space is limited.

Test will be held in Spartanburg, Wednesday, September 16,2026. If you are interested in signing up your student, please email [email protected] for additional testing details and registration information.

The ASVAB (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery) isn’t just relevant for military careers; it offers valuable insights beyond the armed forces. Here’s how:

Career Guidance: Even if you’re not considering military service, your ASVAB score can guide you toward fields that align with your talents. Many civilian employers recognize its significance when evaluating candidates

Educational Pursuits: Taking the ASVAB exposes you to various subjects and areas of knowledge. It’s an opportunity to discover new passions and hone existing skills, which can influence future educational choices.

Math Skills: The ASVAB assesses math skills, which are beneficial in fields like finance or engineering, extending beyond military occupations1.
