Grab Those Tweezers, It’s Time to Explore—ABC Treasures Are Waiting Outdoors!
The fours at Avon Drive took learning outside, we used our fine motor skills & tweezers to find wooden letters! This week we worked on A’s, B’s, & C’s!

This week, our 2’s at Avon Drive have been having so much fun learning all about farm animals! 🐄🐑🐐🐖🐓🐴

We’ve been discovering the different animals that live on a farm, practicing the sounds they make, learning where they live and what they love to eat, and exploring the special ways they help us (like giving us milk, eggs, and soft wool).

One of our favorite activities was making our very own soft, fluffy sheep. Each child carefully pulled apart cotton balls and glued the cozy “wool” onto their sheep. This activity helps strengthen fine motor skills, sparks creativity, and brings our farm animal learning to life!

Our 4 year olds at Valley Falls learning about the Olympics this week. They learned the significance of the torch lighting and got to make their own in the process. 🔥

Flowers in a Bag: Infant Learning and Exploration

At Avon Drive, the infants are learning and exploring the beauty of flowers through a fun, hands-on sensory activity. The children are given an opportunity to observe different flowers, noticing their colors, shapes, and textures.

For the painting activity, flowers and washable paint are placed inside a sealed plastic bag. The infants can safely explore by touching, pressing, and moving the paint around the bag with their hands. As they squish and move the paint, they create their own colorful flower artwork without getting paint directly on their hands.

This activity encourages sensory exploration, fine-motor development, creativity, and cognitive development. The teachers can talk with the infants about the flowers by using simple words such as “flower,” “soft,” “red,” “yellow,” and “pretty.” The activity allows the infants to learn through touching, seeing, and exploring while having fun.

Our 4K friends at Avon drive have been busy little learners! 💕 This week we’ve been practicing writing our names and getting to know the letters A and B. From hands-on name activities to creative letter practice, we’re learning through play, exploration, and lots of smiles!

“All kids need is a little help, a little hope and somebody who believes in them.”

As the 4’s at Valley Falls continue to go through their color wheel, they’re learning what colors mixed together make another. They got experiment with different colors to figure out which ones made brown. What’s brown ? Footballs ! 🏈

“Every missed shot is just preparation for the next make.”

The 2’s at Valley Falls using their gross motor skills to play basketball. They began to learn the skill of dribbling and shooting a ball into a basket. Slam Dunk ! 🏀
