Yesterday was a new experience for everyone in our Ag classes! 🐮🔍

A huge thank you to Dr. Cheston with Bottomley Cattle Company for coming out to ultrasound our school cattle. She confirmed that all five of our school cows, along with our sweet show heifer Judie, are bred! 🎉

A 100% conception rate is rare, and we are incredibly thankful for this exciting news!

We are so grateful for the opportunity Dr. Cheston gave our students and teachers to learn more about reproductive management and experience the ultrasound process firsthand. These hands-on learning opportunities are what make agricultural education so special! 🌱🐄

Thank you again, Dr. Cheston, for investing in our students and our Ag program! 💚💛

What a way to kick off the fall show season! So proud of this group and all the hard work they have put in. Today was definitely one for the books!

Yesterday we had the opportunity to host the 4-H Beef Up Your Knowledge Day Camp! 🐮💚

Participants got an inside look at what our show team is all about. They learned the ins and outs of caring for and exhibiting show cattle, including haltering, feeding, daily care, animal health, showmanship, showing techniques, and so much more.

We hope everyone left with new knowledge, new skills, and an even greater appreciation for the livestock industry. Thank you to everyone who attended, and a special thank you to all of the volunteers and supporters who helped make the day a success. We couldn’t have done it without you!

Yesterday was filled with so much excitement that we didn’t get a chance to update everyone!

Our tool Identification Team took on the competition alongside more than 70 other teams from across the state. They stayed so busy throughout the day that we didn't even manage to get a team picture! Our Quiz Bowl Team also competed against some very strong competition and represented our chapter well.

Other members spent the day attending leadership workshops, building skills and making connections with fellow FFA members from across North Carolina. We enjoyed breakfast at the State Farmers Market Restaurant and wrapped up the day with the Pit Barbecue and social event, making memories that will last a lifetime.

This morning, Mattie was recognized for her outstanding work and dedication throughout the week—a well-deserved honor!

As we head home, we're grateful for the experiences, friendships, leadership opportunities, and memories made at the 2026 State Convention.

That's a wrap on the 2026 State Convention! Thank you to everyone who supported our members and helped make this trip possible. We can't wait to see what next year holds!

We have had a great morning at State Convention!

Mattie completed her first shift with Courtesy Corps and did an outstanding job representing our chapter. Members also had the opportunity to explore the Career and Expo Center, learning about careers, colleges, and opportunities in agriculture.

Ms. Bobbitt completed her final session of the DELTA Program today, marking the conclusion of a valuable leadership development experience.

Next up, Laurel will compete in the first round of Prepared Public Speaking at 2:30 p.m. We are proud of her hard work and wish her the best of luck as she takes the stage!

The Alleghany FFA Chapter is officially headed to the NC FFA State Convention! 💙💛

Our members are excited for a week filled with leadership development, career exploration, recognition, networking, and making memories with FFA members from across North Carolina.

We are looking forward to representing our chapter, learning new skills, and cheering on our members as they participate in convention activities.
