Hi Friends. We are with our neighbors in Sparta during this time of recovery from last night's fire. We love our community, have been blessed by our community, and will continue to support and give back to them.

One of our staff members lost everything. We will share details soon on the best ways to support her directly. In the meantime, please keep her and everyone affected in your thoughts and prayers. 🤍🎻

Saturdays in September: 9/5, 9/12, 9/19, 26; 30-minute blocks held between 11am and 1pm.

🎵 Registration is OPEN for Fall 2026 at Alleghany JAM! 🪕🎻

Looking for an engaging, enriching, and fun afterschool program? Alleghany JAM is now taking registrations for Fall 2026! We're preserving our local heritage and changing lives through traditional music and dance in the "Coolest Clubhouse" in town.

What are we about?

We teach traditional string instruments to youth in grades 3 and up.

Instruments: Choose a primary instrument – Banjo, Mandolin, Fiddle, or Guitar!

More Fun: Learn traditional dance and singing, plus try out the ukulele or dulcimer!

Schedule: After school until 5:25 PM.

Snack Provided! 🍎

We are honored to partner with Alleghany Cares to give back to Alleghany County.

Alleghany CARES is one of our generous donors by way of their CARES Days. It’s humbling to shop at and love a local place that truly gives back and invests in its community. We love our CARES Days, and look forward to one on October 10! In the meantime, we will shop and support our community!

Camp so far...
These kids are knocking it out of the park. They are the nicest group of younguns and have grown so much since Monday! Come see them open the Alleghany County Fiddler's Convention; Sparta, Nc tomorrow (Friday, 7/17) at 5pm!

When our 2nd floor air conditioning went out last week, we called Carolina Heating and Air.

Nathan was here that afternoon, within hours, and got us one more day with our motor. The next day it was out again, and our house got really hot. This 1916 historic house is a bear to keep warm in the winter, and cool in the summer.

The motor was shot. They ordered a new one. Flash forward to today, when Nathan arrived in my office (before I knew he was here) with great news: “it’s fixed!”

New motor, cool rooms, just in time for a forecast of close to 90 for the rest of the week. Our campers (and staff) are SO APPRECIATIVE!!
