"Hi! I’m LaTanya “Tanya” Ramos, and I’m excited to join Sparta High School as a Special Education Teacher. I am a United States Army Veteran and bring more than 20 years of experience in military service, civil service, and education. I recently completed my master’s degree in Special Education and am excited to begin this next chapter serving students and families in the Sparta community.

Outside of school, I’m a proud wife, mother, and grandmother. I’m also a certified knitting and crochet instructor who loves crafting, reading (especially Stephen King!), baking, and cooking. I’m looking forward to getting to know my students, colleagues, families, and the Sparta community. I’m proud to be a Spartan!"

Our hearts go out to the Alma Center community and to the family and loved ones of Adam Massman following his passing.

We are thinking of his family, friends, teammates, coaches, classmates, and all those who knew and cared for him during this incredibly difficult time.

While here, I earned my B.S. in Psychology from UWL as well as my M.S. E and Ed. S in School Psychology. Here are three items on the agenda for next week. There are other items on the agenda. This is to highlight a few areas that could be discussed.

Our Board of Education welcomes and encourages Public Input. To speak, simply show up before the meeting starts and fill out a piece of paper.

Due to the construction at Meadowview, those attending the Board of Education meetings can park in the back parking lot using the entrance off Meadowview Lane and then enter through Door S (southeast part of the building). Attendees can then walk down the hallway into the cafeteria area for the meeting.

Full agendas can be found here: https://go.boarddocs.com/wi/spartan/Board.nsf/Public

With the new school year just around the corner, we want to remind families to complete a Free & Reduced-Price Meal Application if you believe your family may qualify.

School begins Monday, August 31, which means now is a great time to submit your application. Applications need to be reviewed and processed, so please don't wait until the first day of school to apply.

If your family qualifies:

Free meals: Breakfast and lunch are provided at no cost.
Reduced-price meals: Breakfast is just $0.30 and lunch is just $0.40.
Completing an application may also help your family access other benefits available through the school district.

If you think your family may qualify, we encourage you to submit your application as soon as possible so we can process it before or shortly after the start of school.

Thank you, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back for another great school year!
