Tomorrow, (ironically, Juneteenth, the date of emancipation from slavery, which our denomination fiercely opposed), my congregation of the RPCNA celebrates 200 years (1821, while Adams and Jefferson yet lived) of service to the Lord in our community (Sparta, Illinois)!

This week, I participated in the historic sending of our Canadian Churches to form their own synod, for their own nation (I wonder what the Reformed Presbyterian Church of North America will be named now)!

And as always, God gave me this great prayer and response this morning, which I hope will encourage every one of God's people who reads it:

God speaks for us, and through us, in *Psalm 86A (1-10) (which we can sing and pray back to him as we meditate upon it) [some of my meditation in brackets]:

"Attend Thou and answer. Jehovah give ear. I needy and poor make my plea. Preserve Thou my soul. Save Thy servant, oh God. For godly and trusting is He. [God gives me these very words to pray to Him, just the words that I need. I realize how needy and poor I am, and am often overwhelmed by it. Yet He has given me a new, Godly and trusting heart, and great ability, for which I am thankful, but not (close to) enough to overcome my weakness without His continual intervention.] Since all the day long do I cry unto Thee [Lord remind me continually to keep You at the front of my considerations.], show mercy oh Lord unto me. The soul of Thy servant cause Thou to rejoice. I lift up my soul unto Thee. Thou Lord dost show mercy. Forgiving Thou art, abundant Thy kindness and love, to those who sincerely upon Thee do call. My voice LORD attend from above. In day of my trouble upon Thee I'll call. An answer for me Thou'lt prepare. [God gives us these words of complete confidence upon His answer!] Among all the gods there is none like to Thee, and no works with Thine can compare. All nations Thou madest will come to Thee, Lord, and bowing, Thy name they shall laud, because Thou art great and great wonders hast done, for Thou and Thou only art God. [Which nations did He not make? Doesn't this require absolutely every nation in existence, before the final judgement, to willfully bow to Christ, who has been given all authority in heaven and on Earth?]"

[I think I have a new favorite Psalm.]

Through this prayer and song that He has given, may the LORD guide you to a greater love and priority for Him, which will result in a greater love and priority for one another.

The conclusion of ICHE's lobbyist according to this article, that "that this bill is not aimed at homeschooling, due to the verbiage employed," is simply incorrect and very poor legal advice.

This is an easy mistake to make, as homeschools in the State of Illinois are schools, as defined by the Illinois Supreme Court in People v. Levinsen (1950), not by any statute.

Therefore, statements that a legislative act applies to all "public AND NON-PUBLIC" schools throughout the state do apply to homeschools (which HB 2789 does clearly and repeatedly), whether or not we speculate that "verbiage" causes them to be "not aimed at homeschooling," DO IN FACT INCLUDE HOMESCHOOLS!

If this were challenged as to homeschools, the Illinois Supreme Court would either rule that that the statute does apply to all schools, and that homeschools are schools by People v. Levinsen (likely 7-0), or that homeschools aren't schools for this purpose, which would weaken legal protection of homeschooling in Illinois.

This bill MUST BE AMENDED to definitely exclude homeschools. The people to call are Representative Michelle Mussman (https://ilga.gov/house/Rep.asp?MemberID=2835) and Senator Chris Belt (https://ilga.gov/senate/Senator.asp?MemberID=2927 who, incidentally has a large number of homeschool families as constituents who would very much oppose this possibly applying to them).

Otherwise, we need everybody (especially Republicans in the General Assembly) to oppose this bill LOUDLY!

There has been much concern expressed over HB 2789, but in communicating with HSLDA and our lobbyist in Springfield, they have informed us that this bill is not aimed at homeschooling, due to the verbiage employed. Therefore, the ICHE Legislative Task Force is NOT encouraging calls at this time.

What's On My Mind? Government's Tyrannical Interference With Local Schools
Thanks to my Senator, Terri Bryant, for calling these people out on this further destruction of local community schools.
By controlling their funds, the State has for many years wrapped its tyrannical iron fist around our local school systems, bringing down the quality of education, and indoctrinating children with Marxist ideology (e.g., act as if there is no God, He is not the Creator of America's founding, He did not make us one gender, He did not make all "races" equal, that He isn't the designer of marriage, and that He didn't make s*x only for males with females, just to name a very few).
It is no wonder that public schools now produce more mass murderers, atheists, illegitimate babies (when they aren't murdered instead) and Democrats, than loving, patriotic, sober, geniuses, inventors and entrepreneurs.
This is why our society looks like it does! Even those of us who've already left the public schools (and you should too, at least until this gets fixed - you can do it!) are at risk.
If you are on a school board, it is time to stand up to these tyrants! It may mean defunding and threats of defunding, hard fights and belt-tightening, but the alternative is dereliction of your duty to train our children in ways that are right, not the stupid Marxist fad of the day!
If you are too cowardly to do this, quit!
If you are not on a school board and there is nobody else to stand-up, get elected and fix it.

Come let us sing unto the LORD! Let us in honor shout for joy to Him, the Rock of our salvation. Oh let us enter His presence with thanksgiving, with joyful song. Oh let us sing with psalms unto Him. Because the LORD is a great God, a mighty King above all gods, the depths of earth are at His fingers. He owns the highest of mountains. The sea is His, for He made it. His hands have fashioned all the dry land. Come let us worship and bow down. Let us before our Maker kneel, before the LORD, for He is our God. We people are of His pasture. The chosen flock He tends with care. Oh if today you would hear His voice! God's voice says, "Don't stiffen your heart the way you [remember, this is now our heritage, as God's chosen people] did at Meribah, a time of testing in the desert. Your fathers tested My patience. They tried Me with their discontent, though witnessing the wonders I did. I grieved with that generation. They forty years disgusted Me. Dear Family:

God speaks for us in *Psalm 72B (9-15) (which we can sing and pray back to him as we meditate upon it) [some of my meditation in brackets]:

[God speaks to us in Psalm 72 of the King of Israel, but in terms that no earthly king, no sinful man, could fulfill. The kings at the time of the writing of the Psalm were anti-types of the ultimate coming king, Jesus, who has now come and remains forever as the rightful, permanent and final King of Israel, though His coronation had to be with a crown of thorns, on a cross.] "The nomads bow to him as king, and to the dust his foes descend. The isles and Tarshish tribute bring and Sheba Seba gifts shall send. All kings shall down before him fall. All nations his commands obey. [God has given us this prayer, implying His answer, for just such a time as this. May it be so in our time and our nation!] He'll save the needy when they call, the poor and those that have no stay [the true homeless]. He'll show the poor [remember the Kingdom of God: poor in spirit, primarily] his sympathy, and save the needy by his might. From fraud and force he'll set them free. Their blood is precious in his sight. So he shall live. A gift of gold from Sheba they'll before him lay. They'll him in constant prayer uphold, their blessings on him chant all day."
