My name is Dave and my family recently moved to Tennessee from South Florida where I have a 30-year background in Law Enforcement. I have been a member of the NRA my whole adult life and am an avid hunter and gun enthusiast. I do practice what I preach, I have been carrying a gun since the age of 19 and now my wife and children do as well. I am a Tennessee State and NRA Certified Instructor. Shoot

ing and safety is more than a hobby for me, everyone needs to know how to protect themselves and their loved ones. Why Take This Class?:
This is the DVS Tactical Certified Tennessee State Enhanced Handgun Carry Permit Course that certifies you to legally carry a handgun in Tennessee and the 37 states that recognize TN Carry Permit Reciprocity. What You Will Learn:
During this 8 hour class we will cover:
Tennessee Law: Use of force, gun laws, self-defense, where you can and cannot carry and other important information. Handgun Safety and Fundamentals: You will learn how to safely handle a firearm as well as stance, grip, sight alignment, sight picture, trigger press and much more. During the class, I will share some personal experiences from my time in Law Enforcement. If you have any doubts or concerns, please ask. I encourage questions and want everyone to feel comfortable and confident. Safety is key on the range! Cost and Requirements:
The cost of this class is $65. YOU WILL NEED to bring a handgun of your choice, 50 rounds of ammunition, eye and ear protection. Targets will be provided. You do not need any previous handgun experience. Passing requirements are a written examination of 50 multiple choice questions with a score of 70%. Fire range qualification at the conclusion of class will consist of 50 rounds fired at a B29 Target with a score of at least 70%. Prior to Class:
Prior to class, please make sure you have completed the Tennessee Handgun Permit Application at
https/dl.tn.safety.gov. Complete the registration and email me your application number so I can get you registered for class.

News update!
The State of Tennessee is now allowing 18-20 year olds to receive their Enhanced Carry Permits. The process is not updated in the online portion yet but, we can accommodate with a paper copy to take to the DL office. We’re looking forward to working with these new shooters..
