My son wrangled me into doing a chest and tricep workout in our gym garage today. I was elated to be able to spend some one-on-one time working out (something we both love). We took turns doing bench press, overhead extensions and other exercises. He likes to push himself to failure on Saturdays! He set up chest press exercise using our cable machine. He loaded up the weights and encouraged me to give it a try. Feeling strong, I navigated the first 5 reps with ease. By rep 6 I started to fatigue. As I started to fatigue I began to struggle a bit and started to shake as my muscles pushed to drive through more reps. My son, sensing my state, gave me some words of encouragement…”mom, you’ve got this…if I see you needing help, I will help you…”. That’s all it took! Just knowing he believed I could do it and was committed to supporting me with extra muscle if I needed it gave me the push I needed to keep going. This is a perfect example of why we NEED coaching! As a mindset coach, this is exactly what we do…move you from where you are to where you want to be by motivating, supporting and helping carry the weight when needed!
