Aloha kākou! It is with much aloha and gratitude that I announce the closing of Ka Pā Hula O Kawaiolanoelaniokāne. My kuleana here has been fulfilled and now it's time to continue on with my hula journey with my sister back home on Maui. We have dreams and goals and we are excited to start our own hālau together. I've taught hula here in Reno for 13 years and I mahalo ke Akua for the opportunity to share my love of hula, culture and language. I've had the privilege of training many talented dancers and I pray you folks will carry on with hula so that it lives. With the recent ʻūniki of my haumāna as kumu hula I'm happy to announce that she will be starting her own hālau in the very near future. I am very proud to say that hula will continue to thrive here. This page will be deleted before the new year. There will no longer be Ka Pā Hula O Kawaiolanoelaniokāne and I'm okay with that as my purpose here has been served. When one chapter ends a new one begins. I will carry all of the precious memories with me in my heart. Much love and aloha!

We’re thrilled to welcome Ka Pā Hula O Kawaiolanoelaniokāne from Reno, Nevada to this year’s Emma Farden Sharpe Hula Festival!

Founded on July 7, 2012 by Kumu Kawaiolanoelaniokāne Deguilmo-Banner, the hālau has become a source of aloha in their community. After relocating to Reno, Kumu opened a diner that serves Hawaiian favorites by day and transforms into a hula studio by night—nourishing her community with both food and culture.

Catch their performance on Saturday, August 23 at The Branches, part of a full day of hālau hula from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Family, friends and supporters, here's an opportunity to help support our ladies for their upcoming hōʻike hoʻopuka on September 6. As a last minute effort to fundraise, we're selling these beautiful palule-t in recognition of our papa ʻūniki which means that this design will not be printed ever again. Orders must be in by August 22. Mahalo nui for your continued support.

Some highlights of ʻaha ʻaina at the conference this past weekend in Las Vegas. It was such a fun evening. Live music, hula for days, ʻono food and lots of laughter and tears. So much Aloha was shared.
