Oldfields School Riding A private all-girls school for grades 8-12 in MD. We compete in IEA, H/J and eventing. Where learning moves out of the classroom and into the barn.

An integral part of the Oldfields experience since 1867, the Oldfields Riding Program is dedicated to inspiring our riders to pursue a path of continued growth. Our goals are to develop and enhance a yearning for knowledge, to value the character of the horse and the integrity of the sport, to honor the path of the individual, and to savor the process of learning and the lessons discovered from ou

r relationships with horses. We participate in the Interscholastic Equitation Association (IEA), local and rated Hunter/Jumper shows, events, hunter trials, dressage shows, combined trials, clinics, and foxhunts. The riding program ranges from 35 to 45 girls in the program. We have a 25 stall barn, two outdoor rings, a brand new indoor built in fall 2010, and extensive trails. Oldfields owns 30 school horses and has around 8-10 private horses in the barn at a time. Oldfields School is an all-girls boarding school 45 minutes outside of Baltimore. The OS riders had a midweek adventure at Country Hill Farm:

🎉Maggie and OS Showtime De Pleville had great rounds in the 2' Hunters
🎉Elle ’31 had a successful night in the poles and took the next step up to the cross rails!

A huge thank you to Marsha and Country Hill for putting on such a fun show! We can’t wait for the next one!

🐴Kelly B. and OS Romario debuted in the Jr. Training Hunter (2nd and 4th)
🐴Meadow J. and OS RMickey Me placed 2nd and 3rd in the 1m.
🐴Chloe B. and Farnley Upscale moved up to the .90m (4th)
🐴Gabby B. '16 and OS Lou Van't Hofken placed 2nd in the 1.10m.

We have had the best time with our riders in our SOLD OUT 🎉 Oldfields Residential Riding Camp 2026!
Our campers have done a marvelous job of getting to know our horses, mastering exercises in their lessons, and making new friends.
They also learned—
🐴how to walk lines and take a real 3’ step
🐴new grooming skills
🐴how to wrap polo wraps.

Last night our very own Athletic Director, Mark Mirasol, played his ukelele around a campfire 🔥 and sang songs for our campers and our very curious horses. Thank you, Mr. Mirasol! Additionally, our Dean of Students, Porscha Henson, led the riders in a “get to know one another” activity that was a hit with everyone. Thank you, Ms. Henson!
We can’t wait for more learning and adventures tomorrow!

🎉 A great outing for Oldfields Riding at the McDonogh MHSA/BCHSA show today! Brooke S. ‘30 riding OS Baloumerang SV earned Reserve Champion in the Junior Eq and Chloe riding her own Farnley Upscale earned great ribbons in the O.80m jumpers! Meadow J and OS RMickey Me moved up to the 1.0 m Jr/Amateur Jumpers and earned Champion! And Kristen J ‘10 came back to show with us riding OS Romario to Reserve Champion in the Hopeful Hunters. Great job, riders!! 💚🤍

We had a great time at the BCHSA/MHSA/HHSA show at Garrison Forest today. Maggie and OS Showtime de Pleville earned Reserve Champion in the Long Stirrup Hunter! Brooke ‘30 and OS Baloumerang won EVERY single class they participated in today—-including winning the Low Children’s Classic. Way to GO, riders! 💚🤍
