POSITION SUMMARY: Develops and implements individual and group educational plans for infant aged children, designed to promote social-emotional, physical, and cognitive growth in a manner appropriate to their stage of development.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop and implement individualized and group lesson plans and educational activities that promote all developmental areas to improve the readiness of children for school.
Guide and facilitate activities of daily classroom activities and field for the children. Provide healthy and safe activities that are developmentally and age appropriate.
Maintain accurate records on paper and using designated charting systems. Maintains confidentiality regarding students and families.
Compose and proofread correspondence and reports.
Protect the safety of children by implementing active supervision techniques to ensure no child is left alone or unsupervised at any time.
Assist children in eating to teach social and self-help skills and sound nutritional practices.
Ensure that the physical needs of children are met, assisting children in health and personal habits, such as eating, resting, hand washing, diapering and toilet habits.
Fills in on a temporary basis when a staff member needs to leave the classroom for a short duration.
Participates in staff meetings and training sessions.
Work may require the flexibility to stay until all children have left the program.
Keeps classroom clean and organized.
May translate.
REQUIREMENTS:
Upon being hired, you must be able to obtain a Washoe County sheriff's card and a negative TB test.
CPR, first aide, and additional childcare training must be obtained in 90-120 days.
SCHEDULE:
We currently operate 6am-6pm Monday through Friday. Our open position is 9am-6pm.
CHILDCARE:
We offer free or discounted childcare for employees. This is dependent on age and availability and will be discussed during interview.
