STAC and Rockland Community College (RCC) are proud to announce the addition of a new Honors Program pathway to their existing “STAC Tracks” partnership.

Beginning Fall 2022, qualified honors students at RCC will be eligible to transfer into STAC’s Honors Program, which offers high-achieving students the opportunity to expand their critical thinking skills.

STAC President Ken Daly notes: “We are thrilled to expand upon our relationship with RCC. Our institutional missions are closely aligned -- to ensure that students have access to an affordable education which will enable them to make a profound difference in the world. This synergistic partnership with RCC allows us to foster a seamless student journey towards the pursuit of their degree and beyond.”

Throughout February, STAC is celebrating Black History Month on campus with various events that foster critical discussions on a range of social issues that promote respect, equity, and justice.

St. Thomas Aquinas College and its founders have been deeply dedicated to the principles of social justice and equity and it is with these principles that STAC’s Center for Social Justice (CSJ) comprising two pillars—the Social Justice & Equity Forum and Justice Studies Institute—was founded.

To mark the beginning of Black History Month, the United States observes National Freedom Day to honor Abraham Lincoln’s signing of the resolution to outlaw slavery on February 1, 1865, which later became the 13th amendment of our nation’s Constitution.

June is Pride Month and STAC celebrates and commemorates this important month to our community.

Pride Month serves as a reminder that everyone should be treated equally. We embrace a climate of mutual respect and inclusion, and our student-centered resources within the Social Justice and Equity (SJE) Forum provide a campus-wide platform for our diverse student body.

The SJE Forum comprises current students, administrators, staff, and a cabinet member — all who bring awareness to our student body, so our community may express themselves, use College resources, and thrive with equality and understanding for all.

St. Thomas Aquinas College is proud to announce the newly launched Center for Social Justice (CSJ), led by President Ken Daly and co-chaired by Ms. Samantha Bazile and Dr. Carolyn Fraker. From its very beginning, the College and its founders have been deeply dedicated to the principles of social justice and equity, and it is with these principles in mind that the Center for Social Justice was formed — to foster critical discussions on a range of social issues that promote respect, equity, and justice.

“As we start the Spring semester today — and as we kick off Black History Month — we are delighted to launch the Center for Social Justice,” said President Ken Daly. “As the new President of the College, I am honored to lead this Center firsthand and to support our students as they navigate through these challenging times. I have established a campus-wide goal of ensuring access to an affordable education for all students and I believe that our new Center for Social Justice will enable us to change the lives of many deserving students and create the caring leaders that we need in the future.”
