Please note the Spanish Fort Middle School car line traffick for both the morning and afternoon. SRO Doc Correa will be directing morning traffic at the intersection of Jimmy Faulkner Dr and D’Olive Dr, it is imperative to follow police directions in order to ensure that traffic is flowing in a safe and efficient manner.

Parents,

As we get closer to school starting there are a few things that we want you to be aware of. We are asking that you to monitor your children’s social media accounts for different trends that they might want to do and we know at a certain age our kids will start to take more risk. Also please be aware of certain languages that you kids might use that we might not know or understand.

I was just sent an email recently, that I will provide a link at the end of this post, where there is a trend talking about a back to school necklace. Mental health problems are a real issue that is something that we all need to be aware of and recognize. We have the resources to help.

This week was the annual TAASRO, School Resource Officer Conference that is held in Orange Beach. Your Spanish Fort SROs went through several seminars where guest speakers spoke about the latest information that would apply to our SROs. This includes Basic, Advanced and Management classes that are recognized by The National Association of School Resource Officers(NASRO) as well as an active shooter experience and great keynote speakers such as Dr. Bernard James, Professor of Law at Pepperdine University. This is one of the largest state held SRO conference in the nation the had well over 800 officers and school administrators.

Congratulations to SRO Bumpers for completing Basic SRO training, SRO Killian for completing Advanced SRO training and SRO Ayer for completing SRO Management training. Your commitment to excellence to you department and school is an example of your professionalism.

We know that any visit to a doctors office can be a scary thing, but the Doctors and staff at Malbis Parkway Pediatric Dentistry do a great job talking to their patients and family to put them at ease. Thank you Dr. Correa for coming to Spanish Fort Elementary to teach the importance of dental hygiene to our students and that they have nothing to be scared about!
