As I think back on March 13 and 14, 2017 I would like to share some of the happens on Bernice Woffinden last two day here with us. The 13th was a Monday and busy day compared to March 14, which was a stay at home day. That Tuesday was a typical day until mom told me she wasn’t feeling good, like she was getting a cold.
The morning of the 13th started with a nice visit from mom’s visiting teacher. Then mom was able to watch her favorite TV show - the Price is Right. After lunch mom shared that she wasn’t feel good. I called her Nurse to see what I could give mom. She suggest an over-the-counter medication and I give mom some.
More happen that evening but it’s very personal. Mom and I went to bed early that evening. Mom was feeling a bit better but I laid in my bed listening.
Tuesday was so different to Monday, March 13th. It started with us attending the Spanish Fork Senior Center for lunch. Following the lunch mom and I run a few errands. First we went to Kmart to return the items that I had purchased for mom on Saturday. (As I think back, on that Saturday, mom commented when I showed her what I had gotten for her in the Van was “I don’t need any new clothes, I won’t wear out what I already have.” Since I had taken more time than I had planned, I told her we would return the tops on Monday. I remember later feel how unusual Mom request was. She had asked me to return things because she did like the color or style but never because she couldn’t wear out the ones she already had. )
Well back to what we did that Monday, March 13, 2017. After returning the items at Kmart we went to Walmart to get some groceries. I always asked mom if she wanted to go in with me, usually the answer was not this time, but that day mom said she would go in with me, if it wasn’t too much trouble. “Mom that’s why I got the Van, so it would be easy.”
We went in and we got the groceries we needed. I could tell mom was getting cold even with her coat on. We checked out and I took mom out to the van and then run back in to get a few more nonfood items. Then we header home.
What happen after we got home I’m going to save to share later. Mom and I went to bed that evening with mom encouraging me to come to bed before it got to later. And I went to sleep with no worries and my cat, Honey sleeping on my bed.
I had no idea that in three days on March 15, 2017. My life was head for a major life event; my mother joining my father on the other side of the vein. I feel so blessed to have them as my parents.
