Dr. Alekel and Mrs. Ermshar are excitedly planning for a new year of learning, laughter, growing in faith, and helping each child discover the gifts God has given them. They are the heart of our school making sure each child is known, loved and valued!🥰

If you’re looking for a Christ-centered school with small classes, big hearted-caring teachers, and a place where your child can truly belong, we’d love to welcome your family. 📚 We are still enrolling for the 2026–2027 school year!

🎒❤️ They’ve lost so much. Together, we can help fill their backpacks with hope!

Upper Columbia Academy Elementary School is collecting new school supplies for students impacted by the fires.

As families face the overwhelming task of rebuilding, we want to help make sure their children can begin the school year with the supplies they need to learn, grow, and heal.

✏️ Backpacks, notebooks, folders, pencils, markers, crayons, and other new school supplies are greatly appreciated.

📍 Drop off at UCAES 3025 E Spangle-Waverly Rd.
Spangle WA 99031
Monday–Friday | 9:00 AM–5:00 PM August 13 - 24

Every backpack filled and every supply donated is a reminder to a child that they are not alone and people care. ❤️

At Upper Columbia Academy Elementary School, we believe there is power in prayer.
Today we are joining countless others in praying for our Spokane neighbors—for families facing evacuation, those who have suffered loss, emergency personnel working through dangerous conditions, and everyone impacted by these fires.
May God surround our community with His peace, comfort, strength, and protection!

Activities like this help students:
✨ strengthen letter formation
✨ engage multiple senses
✨ improve spelling recall
✨ and most importantly...have fun learning!

🚒❤️ Learning Life Skills That Matter ❤️🚒
At UCAES, learning goes beyond textbooks.
Our students recently had the opportunity to learn important life-saving skills, including CPR and fire safety. They practiced chest compressions, explored firefighting equipment, learned how firefighters stay safe on the job, and even got hands-on experience with a fire hose!
We are so thankful for the community professionals who take time to invest in our students and help prepare them to respond wisely and confidently in emergencies.
These experiences help students develop knowledge, confidence, responsibility, and a heart for serving others.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Scoops & Sprinkles Meet & Greet with Dr. Alekel.
We loved seeing so many UCAES families, students, and friends gather together to enjoy ice cream, fellowship, and a chance to get to know our new principal and teacher. The excitement, encouragement, and support shown for Dr. Alekel were such a blessing.
As we look ahead to the new school year, we are grateful for the wonderful community God continues to build at UCAES.
