Hey Jaguar fam! 🐆💚
First, a reminder that there's NO SCHOOL tomorrow, Friday, October 16! Enjoy the long weekend!
Now, can we talk about something for a minute?
Our 6th Annual Trunk-or-Treat is just around the corner, and we could really use some more helping hands.
Something our families may not realize is how much parent involvement goes into making our school experiences possible.
Trunk-or-Treat, Bingo nights, field trips, grams, and so many of the fun activities our Jaguars look forward to are FULLY organized and funded by our PTSA and parent volunteers! These are not school or district organized activities, although some of our amazing members are teachers and admin at the school.
Right now, much of that work falls on a very small group of parents, 6 typically, and since it's been that way the past several years they're getting stretched thin.
We want these traditions to continue, but the reality is that without more families stepping up, we may have to scale back or discontinue some of these activities next year. We already scaled back from 10 events in previous years to just 4 this year. This is all due to a lack of support.
We don't need every parent to do everything. We just need more parents willing to do something. 💚
And you don't have to join the board or commit to every event to make a difference. Even helping with one activity can take a huge weight off the shoulders of the parents who have been carrying the load.
Here's how you can help right now:
🍬 CANDY DONATIONS: Our giant candy collection bucket is by the attendance office! The class that brings in the most candy by weight wins a class party on October 23, including a visit from our very own Popcorn Papa!
🎃 HOST A TRUNK:Our 6th Annual Trunk-or-Treat is Friday, October 23, from 6–7 PM. We're still looking for families to decorate their vehicles and help make the evening special. There's even a best-decorated trunk contest!

🥫 FOOD DRIVE: We're kicking off our food drive at Trunk-or-Treat! Bring a nonexpired food donation to Ms. Tara's trunk during the event, and students will receive a special Halloween RISE ticket worth 5 tickets!
To every parent, grandparent, family member, teacher, and volunteer who has already stepped up, thank you. We see you, and we appreciate you more than you know.
We have an incredible school community, and we'd love to see more families become part of what makes these memories possible so we can continue to host the events our little jaguars enjoy so much. 💚💛
