SchoolWorks is celebrating exceptional leaders in Education. 🎉

Today, we’re honored to spotlight our partner Johanna Martin, Chief Operating Officer of KIPP Capital Region, where she leads an organization serving more than 2,500 students and 375 staff members across seven schools in Troy and Albany, New York.

Johanna’s career in education and student support spans higher education, career development, teaching, special education, and school operations. Her career includes working at NYU Stern and Baruch College, and in 2016, Johanna joined Saratoga Independent School as Director of Operations. She was soon recruited to lead three Uncommon Schools campuses in Troy. Following a merger and the growth of four schools, she now helps lead KIPP Capital Region Public Schools, which is the largest charter network in the area. ⭐

Johanna brings a remarkable breadth of experience, a deep commitment to students, and a thoughtful approach to leading school communities. Her driving passion in education is helping to block and tackle for those on the ground in front of students every day, paving the way to help create a future with boundless choice.

She holds a B.A. in English Literature from SUNY Oswego and an M.A. in Counseling from NYU Steinhardt.

SchoolWorks is proud to partner with a leader like Johanna. Thank you, Johanna, for all you do for students, educators, and the Capital Region community! 👏
