Harbor House Children's Center! Celebrating 40 years of childcare on MDI

We provide quality play based care for children ages 12 months through PreK. We currently have space in all age groups. Full time(5 days a week) or part time(M,W,F or Tues, Thurs) care is available.

Harbor House Children’s Center has a fulltime position open for someone working with children ages 6 months-4 years old. Responsibilities include maintaining a safe, caring and learning environment, supervising activities and communicating effectively with parents and other staff. Must be 18 or older, hold a valid driver’s license and provide references. Interested applicants should contact Pam Reed at

The Children's Center is also looking for substitute teachers. If you enjoy spending time with children, this might be a fun way to interact with them without committing to a full time job.

We wanted to send a HUGE thank you out to the businesses that helped make our annual Trick or Treating event a success! It’s always heartwarming to see the community come together to put a smile on some little ones faces. 😊 We even had some places call US to make sure we were coming…❤️So, thank you Southwest Harbor! We had an amazing time! 😊🎃❤️👻

It’s been a busy couple of weeks here at Harbor House Children’s Center! Our Scamper Camp for 3-6 year olds has dodged the occasional rain shower and had some foggy swims along the coast…but that’s Maine summer! 😁
Taking up to 40 kids this young on a school bus, to the beach, on hikes and out exploring around MDI can be daunting…but when we see how much fun they’re having it always makes us smile and definitely makes it all worth it. 😊♥️
