Thank you Pop Culture Soda for bringing the fun + flavor to our teachers for a late teacher appreciation treat from Southside FCCLA! We rescheduled due to weather last week and it was the perfect treat on this Wednesday before finals!

Our Child Development classes wrote and illustrated a children’s book that emphasized a moral lesson! These stories and illustrations were simply amazing - some even inspired by true stories. Students were tasked with creating a charcuterie board including elements of each group member’s books. They sat with their groups, read their stories, and enjoyed a shared snack in class! These students did an incredible job! 📚🧑‍🧑‍🧒‍🧒🎨

The results are in and we couldn’t be more proud of our Southside High School FCCLA members who competed in STAR events at the 2025-2026 Alabama FCCLA State Leadership Conference! This was their first time to ever compete!

NINE of our ELEVEN students that competed were TOP 4 in their categories and NATIONAL QUALIFIERS!

Southside FCCLA members competed today in a county-wide Mock STAR Event competition alongside Sardis and Glencoe! These students have spent months preparing, refining their projects, and growing in leadership and skill as they gear up for Alabama FCCLA State Leadership Conference in March
