🌊🐬 SOUTHPORT IS MAKING WAVES! 🐬🌊

We have SO much to celebrate at Southport Elementary! Our 2025–26 results show the incredible impact of our hardworking students, dedicated staff, supportive families, and amazing community. 💙

📚 Reading & Math — PROFICIENCY MET!
⭐ 65% EOG Composite Proficiency — 6 points ABOVE the state rate!
🔬 79% 5th Grade Science Proficiency — an incredible 21.6-point increase and 11 points ABOVE the state rate!

And the growth keeps coming! 🌊
📖 5th Grade Reading: 67% — ↑ 16.6 points
➗ 4th Grade Math: 70% — 8.5 points above the state
➕ 5th Grade Math: 74% — ↑ 20.6 points and 11.2 points above the state!

These numbers represent so much more than test scores. They represent students who showed up, worked hard, and grew; teachers who believed, challenged, supported, and inspired; and families who partnered with us every step of the way.

We are proud of our progress, but we aren't finished! Every Wave Matters. Every Moment Counts. We will keep Diving In, growing, and making waves together! 🌊💙🐬

The work is showing! 📈

The progress across Brunswick County Schools goes beyond one number.

This year, 18 of 20 schools posted a higher School Performance score than last year. That means 90% of our schools improved their numeric score.

And seven schools took another step forward by moving up a full letter grade or designation.

Behind every one of those numbers are our teachers, staff, school leaders and students putting in the work every single day. We are incredibly thankful for the dedication happening in classrooms and schools across Brunswick County. This progress does not happen without them.

There is a lot to celebrate, and we’re excited to keep sharing the story behind the numbers.

Please review and complete the BCS and Southport Chromebook Use Policy and Accountability Form with your child or children. Students will begin accessing their devices during the first week of school.
We want to make sure that all of our Dolphins as well as family members understand the purpose, proper care expectations and possibly the financial responsibilities that go with using school assigned chromebooks and/or other devices. This form is required for all BCS students. It acknowledges that you have read and understand policies that align with BCS device usage. Only one form per family needs to be completed.
