This is sad but validating for and many states that have been recovering and battling insurance since 2 years ago, shocking release of insurance fraud. I say shocking in a sarcastic tone. I say validating because we all KNOW the insurance industry is a scam, yet we are forced to pay or it least we are if we take out a mortgage and the bank requires it. For many that has meant paying insurance premiums on house they cant live in because the insurance did not pay out. OR we replaced our roofs ourselves after the “repair” money was so little it didn’t fix the problem and instead you live in a moldy home making you sick for years, true story. If I ran my business like this, I would be put in jail and I earn 1% of what the insurance company earns. OK, all of you know, I seldom post but this has been a real issue. Their has not been a day that goes by since Hurricane Ian that I was not affected by it, had loss from it, speak to people every day who say they are STILL WAITING FOR THEIR INSURANCE MONEY, so maybe we do need to talk about this instead of accept that this is how life is. Institutions that do not serve us are antiquated and redundant, just because they exist as they have does not mean they either evolve or fall by the way side, it is an era of vote with your dollar and public opinion, we are not beholden to how it used to be but are beholden to what is now. If something in society needs to go, it should go. How insurance is handled needs to go, maybe insurance companies need to be something else, especially as it is proposed that storm relief be taken off the governments responsibility list in 2025. A new version is due. Maybe much like the health insurance industry. See, anything with the word “industry” in it is from the Industrial Revolution of the early 1900’s when machinery was born, people are not industrial, people are not manufactured, so it is time for “industries” that serve people to remember who they serve and we are the customers. Maybe when a storm happens the industry should show up with storm relief, we do it ourselves, find water and food, shelter, electricity and wait for them to pay and reimburse us, were are the storm concierges?!!!! Have you ever been to an online group during a storm or social media trying to find help and information? Where is the industry then? I vote “industry” changes much as Doctors are now moving to new pay monthly to the doctor for service models in reaction to the the health insurance industry not changing but the needs of the clients and patients are. For example, did you know in China, one only pays the doctor when they are well, not when they are sick. Their is another way is my point, lets make a new path to one that actually takes care of people please!!!!!
