What an honor and pleasure it was to welcome the Brunswick County Training School/ Brunswick County High School/ Brunswick County Southport High School alumni back to their former school which is now the Southport Center for Heritage Arts.

Today’s tour was more than a walk through the building, it was a walk-through history. Listening to stories, seeing faces light up with recognition, and hearing memories echo in the halls made it clear that this place is still very much alive in the hearts of those who once called it home.

Thank you to the alumni for sharing your history with us, it was a privilege to walk beside you down memory lane.

And a special thank you to Debbie Appleby for creating and gifting each alumni member a beautiful glass pocket heart, a thoughtful token keeping the Southport Center near and dear to our hearts.
