Our Entrepreneurship students had the privilege of hearing from Scott Richardson, CEO of Celanese, a global company with more than $10 billion in revenue. Students appreciated how relatable he was. He shared that some of the best opportunities in his career came from saying “yes” to things that initially felt unfamiliar or unexpected.

Richardson spoke about building credibility by showing up fully and embracing challenges, noting that real growth happens when we push ourselves—much like the rigorous experiences students have in Carroll. His advice to students was refreshingly simple and impactful: relax, enjoy being young, and understand that mistakes are part of learning—as long as you don’t repeat them. He encouraged them to work well with others, stay humble, make decisions that reflect who they are, and continue saying yes to new opportunities. He closed by reminding students to do something kind for someone every day; even a small gesture can brighten someone’s day and lift your own. Thank you sir!

Five of our teams attended the pitch showcase at SMU last month, sponsored by the Cox School of Business and IncubatorEdu. The students heard from an admissions specialist and watched pitches from several teams around North Texas.

One of our teams, Flyaway, were voted by attendees as a Top 3 businesses to spotlight their product to the group and a panel from SMU. We are so proud of our teams!
