It’s a GREAT DAY to be a Johnson Elementary School Dragon! Today was our Dragon Diamonds kickoff! Our students heard how this program was started and why. This year…It’s all about your super power of kindness. We also recognized our students who have already been using the Dragon Code in their everyday life. Special thanks to Mr. Lowe who got us all fired up to use our kindness as a super power! Thank you to Audra Snead (she started this program 10 years ago. The legacy this program has runs deep 🥹), Jen Greever, and Meredeth Harris for making this assembly fun and encouraging to all our dragons! ✨ Meet the JES Staff! ✨

Please help us welcome Jennifer Coccaro back to Johnson Elementary! 💚🐉

Mrs. Coccaro is returning to the classroom as a 2nd grade teacher, and we couldn't be more excited to have her back! A familiar face at JES, she previously taught 2nd and 3rd grade before taking time to stay home with her two boys.

Originally from New York, Jennifer and her husband, Anthony, have loved calling Texas home since 2017. This year is especially exciting because their family is officially all Dragons—with Mason in Kindergarten and Camden in Pre-K 4!

When she's not in the classroom, Jennifer loves spending time with family and friends, and she's always dreaming of her happy place—the beach, especially Florida's beautiful 30A.

Please help us welcome Janira to the Johnson Elementary front office! 💚🐉

A familiar face to Dragon Nation, Janira is thrilled to be back in Carroll ISD, where her journey in education first began as a special education paraprofessional. Her passion for creating a welcoming, supportive environment for students, families, and staff makes her a wonderful addition to the JES team.

When she's not at school, you'll find her cheering on her daughter, Stella, at theater performances, designing custom shirts, cooking, or spending time with her family and farm animals.

Today, our Johnson staff spent the day learning new Kagan strategies to increase student engagement, collaboration, and meaningful classroom discourse. We’re excited to bring these ideas back to our classrooms and continue creating learning experiences where every student has a voice.

This morning, our district came together for Convocation to kick off another incredible year. We loved seeing so many Dragons in one place, and we’re excited that this year’s district theme is Dragon Proud—a theme that definitely resonates with all of us at Johnson!

We’re back in full swing! ⛳💚

While many of our staff have been hard at work for weeks getting ready for the 2026–2027 school year, today we finally celebrated being back together with a fun outing to Big Shots!

Thank you, Jack D. Johnson Elementary PTO, for treating our staff to such a fun afternoon. We’re refreshed, reconnected, and ready for an amazing year with our Dragons! 🐉
