Football powerhouse turns into Texas HS BBQ state champion The Dragons blazed their way to victory.

Carroll Senior High wins Texas High School BBQ Competition A state title, a trophy, and bragging rights were on the line for students from a North Texas high school.

STATE BBQ: From Friday Night Lights to Saturday Afternoon Smoke On Saturday in Granite Shoals, Texas high school football players from Prosper Walnut Grove to Laredo Nixon competed for a BBQ State Championship – and found a community.

Our Carroll BBQ Team brought the heat and took home the Grand Champion Title at the recent High School BBQ State Championship in Granite Shoals!

Competing against 98 teams from across Texas, our Dragons earned the highest overall score in five categories of brisket, ribs, chicken, beans, and dessert. It required a full day of prep, plus precise heat and smoke. 🔥🍖

Last year, this team came home with the Runner-Up Trophy (no small accomplishment), but they’re now STATE CHAMPS! 💪
