The Connecticut State Library will be the topic of a live (via remote) presentation by Mike Sullivan for the Southington Genealogical Society on Tuesday, Aug. 25. The event can be watched in-person at the Southington Historical Society, 239 Main St, beginning at 7 p.m. It can also be accessed remotely.
According to the CT State Library website, the library supports and inspires researchers, students, historians, local and state governments, and all Connecticut residents. Access is available to reference services, public records, the official State archives, state history, and heritage.
Those who would like to join remotely can email [email protected] for the link. The link will open at 6:45 p.m.
The Southington Genealogical Society Inc., founded in 1984, is a non-profit organization located in central Connecticut that promotes the accurate recording, research and preservation of family history. The organization meets monthly on the fourth Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the Southington Historical Society. The website is www.southingtongenealogicalsociety.org.

The Southington Genealogical Society will meet on Tuesday, May 26 at 7 p.m. at the Southington Historical Society, 239 Main St. The main topic will be “Memorial Day: How They Served.” Bring a question or suggestion pertaining to military service and wartime experiences. Here's some conversation starters:
When and where did your ancestor serve?
Did they see action or were they part of the support effort?
Did the women in your family serve in the military, work in factories, run businesses or farms single-handedly, or nurse during war?
Any surprises?
Did you get any info from an unexpected source?
Tips in using Fold3 or applying for information from the National Archives.
Do you have any wartime correspondence that can be shared?

The Southington Genealogical Society will present a webinar on the topic of Artificial Intelligence and Genealogy on Tuesday, March 24. The 7 p.m. program exploring AI and its role in family research will be held in-person at the Southington Historical Society, 239 Main St. and can also be accessed by Zoom.
