ENHANCED ENFORCEMENT-PARKING IN SCHOOL ZONES-Please Share
With all schools expected return next week, be advised we will prioritize the safety of our students, residents, and Crossing Guards. Over the years, we have dealt with many issues of illegal and disrespectful parking by those dropping students off. We will attempt to curb these issues and create safer zones by citing Violators of certain infractions. BE ADVISED, OUR OFFICERS WILL NOT ADD TO MASS TRAFFIC CONGESTION AROUND SCHOOLS-VIOLATORS WILL MORE LIKELY RECEIVE THEIR CITATIONS IN THE MAIL.
TARGETED PROHIBITED PARKING STATUTES
A Vehicle may not be parked:
-Within 30 feet of approach to a Stop Sign, Flashing Beacon, or Traffic Control Signal
-Within 20 feet of a Crosswalk
-Within an Intersection
-Within 15 feet of a fire hydrant
-In front of a Driveway
-In a Private Driveway
IMPEDING TRAFFIC:
-One may not stop in the street to drop off students
CROSSING GUARDS:
-Please respect our Crossing Guards. They are in place to keep our students safe.
BUSES AND BUS PARKING LOOPS:
-Obey Bus signals and respect parking around Bus Loops
