If you have a 5th grader who refused to eat their chicken this weekend, I know why!! 🍗
🐔 As the 5th graders wrapped up their body unit last week, they dissected chicken legs and thighs to see how the muscle, tendons, bone, and tissues connect and interact.
Some dove right in and others swore off chicken for life. 😂

What’s better than Field Day, kick ball games, water balloons, a hot dog picnic lunch, and the ice cream truck visiting school? Having it all on the same day!! These kiddos had a ton of fun while getting some vitamin D to (almost) end the school year. ☀️ Just a few days to go!!
Huge thanks to Mr. C for planning it all, the Knights of Columbus for helping with some of the costs and volunteering, the PTO for sending the ice cream truck, Mrs. Scharnhorst and crew for lunch, Mrs. Bonar and Mrs. Murray for watching over the added crazy at recess, and all the parents who came to help! We have the best village!! 💚

It’s been busy in 2nd grade! The whole class took a trip to Greenfield Village last Friday.
Our second grade auction winner also redeemed his prize last week last week. This lucky winner and his friend had lunch with Mrs. Hoover. Then he picked the afternoon activities and a treat for the entire second grade. 😊It was fun afternoon for all!

On Friday afternoon, The Michigan Science Center came to St. Pius for a “Kaboomistry” presentation. There were loud booms and colorful flames as we learned about chemical reactions.
