Did you know…

* Summer reading loss is a key factor contributing to the achievement gap between struggling and successful students.
* Lower-achieving students are less likely to read out of school.
* Those comfortable reading are more likely to choose recreational reading as a summer activity.
* Having access to books, and having books in the home, is essential to building strong readers
* Children who don’t read over the summer lose 3 months of reading comprehension.

At The Ark Developmental Center we are committed to making sure our Little Scholars continue their love for reading throughout the summer months! Our reading goals are always one grade ahead! 📚

Ujima is one of our favorite principles at The Ark Developmental Center!

Translated as "collective work and responsibility," ujima refers to uplifting your community.

At The Ark one of our main goals is to provide a service that will help to build and maintain our community. Making sure that each one of our Little Scholars understands the importance of uplifting their community and coming together to solve problems to make our world a better place ! ❤️🖤💚
