📱District Update🚨

Michigan has enacted a new law requiring public school districts to prohibit student use of personal communication devices during instructional time beginning with the 2026-2027 school year.

In accordance with the new state requirement, Southfield Public Schools will be Personal Device-Free During Instructional Time. Cell phones, iPads, tablets, and related accessories must be stored in lockers or backpacks during instructional time.

This change will help us:

✔️Protect instructional time
✔️Reduce classroom distractions
✔️Increase student focus and engagement
✔️Strengthen face-to-face connections
✔️Support student well-being

We are asking our families to partner with us by discussing these expectations with their children before the start of school.

Less distraction. More engagement. Greater focus on learning.

What a “Family Affair” we had to kick off the 2026-2027 school year!! 😀 Many smiles, hugs, and shared love was present, as well as the excitement for the Fall! Thank you to every family, returning and new, for showing up and visiting us at our tent!

The Southfield Public Schools Annual Back-To-School Fair is back, and we are so thrilled to announce a new and exciting partnership with the City of Southfield. For the first time ever, we will host the fair at the Southfield Municipal Campus✨

This collaboration represents the commitment and dedication of both our staff and the City of Southfield to bring the community and our families together as we welcome in a new school year‼️
